by MusicCreedLive on March 23, 2015
Kendrick Lamar's 'To Pimp a Butterfly' New Album Just Made History.
Three days after its haphazard release, Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp a Butterfly has already become legend. The album has received a uniformly positive critical response, and on Monday, it broke a major Spotify record.
With 9.6 million streams, To Pimp a Butterfly earned the most streams from an LP in a single day. Make way for hip-hop's new undisputed king.
Lamar absolutely deserves this. To Pimp a Butterfly is one of the most complex and insightful hip-hop albums ever to reach this wide of an audience. Its songs cover the full spectrum of emotions, from swagger to self-loathing to absolute elation. More than anything, it's a passionate exploration of today's most pressing hip-hop topics: racism, social responsibility and gangsterism. The album's larger narrative is the stuff of legend — quite literally. At the end, Lamar all but directly references the classic hero's journey to ...

Birdman Jr.? More like ugly duckling

Cash Money is an army / I’m a one man army / And if them niggas comin’ for me, I’m going out like Tony

All I got is Young Money, no more Cash nigga

Kanye West 'Yeezus' Christmas Parody Album Released (Full Listen Inside).

Kanye West 'Yeezus' Christmas Parody Album Released (Full Listen Inside).

It's pretty obvious we didn't get an official album from Kanye West this year.

However just in time for Christmas, we've been gifted with the Yeezy-inspired Kreezus.

Comedy group Local Business Comedy uploaded the Yeezus parody to Soundcloud this week, and, frankly, it’s fantastic. The project takes production from ‘Ye’s 2013 album, and remakes the titles, lyrics and themes to fit for Christmas.

For instance, there’s Kanye’s “I Am A God” becoming “I Am A Klaus,” “New Slaves” turning into “New Sleighs,” “Blood on the Leaves” morphing into “Lights on the Trees,” and, of course, “Bound 2″ taking form as “Wrapped 2.”

You won’t need another Christmas album this year.

What do you think about the album? Let us know by commenting below.
