Quincy Jones Talks Taylor Swift, 22 Girlfriends, Donald Glover & Racism in Ireland.

February 2, 2018
Quincy Jones is one of the greatest and most influential people in music. He is one of the greatest producers, entrepreneurs and more who paved the way for hundreds of artist over the years. Still, with all of Jones accomplishments, it seems that he still has no plan on stopping or retiring.
This is basically what the soon to 85 years old told the guys at GQ anyway. Jones stated that he plans on to live at least to the age of 110. Jones revealed that he was going through some treatments he's been undergoing at an exclusive hospital in Stockholm, Sweden for six days each year.
Jones who again is one of the most prolific figures in music talked about Taylor Swift and the music of today. Jones stated: "We need more songs, man," the mega-producer said. "Fucking songs, not hooks." "Knowing what you're doing. You know what I mean?" he said. "Since I was a little kid, I've always heard the people that don't wanna do the work. It takes work, man. The only place you find success before work is the dictionary, and that's alphabetical."
But on the other hand, there are many artists that Jones see a strong future with and these artists are currently the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars, Drake, Ludacris, Mary J. Blige, Common and Jennifer Hudon.
Jones also talked about having at least 22 girlfriends all across the globe. "Hell yeah. Everywhere," he said. "Cape Town. Cairo. Stockholm – she's coming in next week. Brazil – Belo Horizonte, São Paulo, and Rio. Shanghai – got a great girl over there from Shanghai, man. Cairo, whew."
One important thing to clarify, however, is that he's not hiding any of the relationships from the other women. "Yeah, I don't lie," he said. "And it's amazing – women get it, man. Don't you ever forget they're 13 years smarter than we are? Don't you ever forget it."
Jones who was married at least three times throughout his life stated that his daughters have set a new stipulation for him, which is he will not date women younger than them. This means that the women would range between the ages of 28 to 42 years of age.
Speaking of Jones reportedly having 22 girlfriends around the world, he also spoke about a certain place on the map that he calls extremely racist. The place I speak of is Ireland. Jones declared Ireland as "so racist it's frightening". He remembered being at Bono's castle in Dublin around the time Bono invited him to the Vatican to meet Pope John Paul in 1999.
Jones stated:
"All the guys in the Vatican had these Vatican black shoes," Jones told the magazine but said the Pope had some different footwear on.
"He had on some burgundy wingtips, man, with thin tan rib socks, man.
"We had to go and kiss his hand before we left. And when I kissed his hand, I looked down and saw those shoes and it just fell out of my mouth. I said, 'Oh, my man's got some pimp shoes on.' And he heard me.
"When he died, I grabbed USA Today, and Bono said, 'Quincy said he had some lovely loafers on.' [Bono]'s a great guy. I stay at his castle in Dublin, because Ireland and Scotland are so racist it's frightening. He said, 'Trying, Quincy, to assimilate, but it's not coming easy.' So I stay in his castle."
The man who will be 85 in March expressed his desire for an actor, songwriter/musical genius Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino to portray him in a possible 10 part tv biopic. On his 85th Birthday, it is stated that Netflix will release a documentary foretelling his life. He also revealed that he will be getting a TV tribute on CBS that Oprah will be hosting.
