Death is something that not that many people will
ever get used to. With that said, it was revealed that EX-NBA
player Rasual Butler, who played for both the LA Clippers and Miami
Heat, and a women were killed early this morning in a crash, the LA
County Coroner confirmed Wednesday.
The former athlete was 38 and the female victim
is currently identified as his wife, Leah LaBelle. The car had
reportedly crashed into a shopping plaza in Studio City, according
to the LA Police Department North Hollywood
It was reported that law enforcement had received
a call at about 2:30 a.m a car into a building on the 11000 block
of Ventura Boulevard. The car was traveling at speeds that exceeded
or were two to three times higher than the limit, according to
police. The vehicle struck a curb and tumbled over until it
crashed-landed in the plaza. The Crash had also prompted a closure
on Ventura Boulevard from Vineland Avenue through Tujunga Avenue,
which was reopened by 6 a.m.
Currently, officials are investigating the cause
of the crash. However, there has yet to be any other information on
what caused the crash.
Miami Heat had decided to release a statement
pertaining to the passing of Rasual:
"We are deeply saddened by the passing of Rasual
Butler and his wife, Leah LaBelle. Our sincere condolences,
thoughts, and prayers go out to the family and many friends of
Rasual and Leah. They will be missed."
